Citywest Campus Luas stop
Luas Red Line · Iarthar na Cathrach
About Citywest Campus
At Citywest the streets were laid out around the tram tracks rather than the other way round. The development was still being built when the Luas extension was being planned, so the road layout was designed to accommodate the line, and the stop sits on reserved track next to The Walk, in the middle of a district that also holds a hotel, a golf course, a shopping centre and a great deal of housing.
It opened in 2011 with the branch to Saggart, and the Irish form of the name is Campas Gnó Iarthar na Cathrach. Beyond the platforms, trams towards the terminus run past the village green at the centre of the development before reaching Fortunestown; in the other direction they head back along Katherine Tynan Road towards Belgard and the city.

Facilities
luas.ie publishes no facility list for individual Luas stops, so the only stop-level facts here are the Park & Ride and Cycle & Ride flags from the operator’s own stop data. Absence of a row is not evidence that something is missing.
What is near Citywest Campus
The stop belongs entirely to the Citywest development, which is a mixture of business park, hotel and housing rather than an old village centre. Citywest Neighbourhood Park, about 320 m from the platforms, is the only mapped landmark within walking distance. Everything else a passenger is likely to want — the offices, the hotel, the golf course and the houses — is spread along the streets that were drawn around the tram line, within a few minutes’ walk of the track.

Frequently asked questions
Because the development was still under construction when the Luas branch was being planned, so the two were designed together and the roads were set out to suit the tracks. That is unusual: most Luas stops had to be fitted into streets that already existed.
It is the open space at the centre of the Citywest development. Trams running towards Saggart pass it immediately west of the stop, between here and Fortunestown.
