Legal notice

Who publishes this site, where its data comes from and on what terms.

Publisher

dublintransport.org is published by David Franco Aguirre (GoRandom), Bilbao, Spain. Contact: [email protected].

Independence

This is an independent guide. It is not operated by, affiliated with or endorsed by the National Transport Authority, Transport for Ireland, Iarnód Éireann / Irish Rail, Transport Infrastructure Ireland or the operator of the Luas. “Luas”, “DART”, “TFI”, “Leap Card” and “Iarnód Éireann” are their marks; line names and colours are used here only to identify the services described. We do not reproduce their artwork or logos ourselves; some of the freely licensed photographs credited below were taken of cards, signs and vehicles that carry those marks.

Accuracy

Timetables, facilities and fares are generated from the open data and published pages listed below and are refreshed when the data changes. Services change at short notice for engineering work and other reasons, and nothing here is live running information: check the operator before you travel. We accept no liability for a missed connection or for a decision taken on the basis of this site.

Copyright and licences

The original text, page layouts and code on this site are ours. The NTA and Transport for Ireland open data remain theirs and are used under CC BY 4.0. Information about places near stops is © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Historical facts are drawn from English Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Where the information comes from

This site does not print a source note on every page, so here is the full answer in one place. None of it makes dublintransport.org an official source: it is an independent guide built on open data and on what the operators publish.

InformationSource
Which lines exist and which stops are on themIarnód Éireann, “Dublin City and Commuter Zone Train and Tram Map” and its accessible text version, which defines the seven routes used on this site.
Stops, stop order, coordinates and departuresNational Transport Authority / Transport for Ireland open GTFS data for Luas and for Iarnód Éireann, published under CC BY 4.0, plus the Luas operator’s own stop list for the Park & Ride and Cycle & Ride flags.
Irish-language stop namesThe NTA GTFS translations file (tram stops) and Iarnód Éireann’s Irish-language station pages (railway stations).
Station facilities, accessibility, opening hours and operator noticesIarnód Éireann’s own station records. Luas publishes no per-stop facility list, so tram stops carry only what the operator does publish. Operator notices are a dated snapshot, not a live feed.
Fares, caps, concessions and penaltiesluas.ie (including the Luas summary fares PDF valid from 28 April 2025), transportforireland.ie, about.leapcard.ie and irishrail.ie, each figure stored with the sentence it came from and the date it was read.
Opening dates, former names and historyEnglish Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0), article by article, taking only what the article states. Dates come at three levels of precision and are printed as published; a year is never turned into a full date.
Places near a stop© OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Distances are straight lines, not walking routes.
The network diagrams and the mapThe diagrams on this site are generated from the data above. Map after “Luas system map” by Maximilian Dörrbecker (Chumwa), Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 2.0, edited by dublintransport.org (stop renamed Broadstone – University, line colours set to the official Luas values, the operator wordmark removed). This edit is CC BY-SA 2.0 as well. Background map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).
The service board on the home pageNo live feed. The board compares the current time in Dublin with the published timetable and says only whether a line is within its service hours. It is not a real-time disruption feed and does not claim to be.
PhotographsWikimedia Commons, under the free licences listed below. No press, operator or stock photography is used. We do not reproduce operator artwork; where a freely licensed photograph happens to show a card, a sign or a vehicle carrying an operator mark, it is that photographer’s image, credited below.
