The Red Line ends beside Citywest Drive, a short way from Saggart village, at a stop that opened in 2011 as the terminus of the branch built out from Belgard. The layout copies Tallaght, the other end of the line: two edge platforms, with the track running on about 80 m beyond them to a double crossover, so one platform takes arrivals and the other departures.

Besides the village it is the nearest stop to Whitechurch and Baldonnel, and the Irish name is Teach Sagard. A large area north of the platforms was set aside for a development called Parklands, planned to include over 150 houses, two schools, shops and a sports area; work on the site had begun by 2020. At quieter times the branch is run as a separate service from Belgard, so journeys to the city centre are made in two legs.

Park & RideNot at this stop

luas.ie publishes no facility list for individual Luas stops, so the only stop-level facts here are the Park & Ride and Cycle & Ride flags from the operator’s own stop data. Absence of a row is not evidence that something is missing.

What is near Saggart

There is nothing mapped within 400 m of the terminus, and within about a kilometre only Carrigmore Park, roughly 890 m away. The stop stands on the edge of the built-up area where the Citywest estates give out onto open country, with Saggart village a walk to the west and the Parklands site to the north. Passengers are overwhelmingly local, walking or cycling in from the houses on either side of Citywest Drive.
