Spencer Dock Luas stop
Luas Red Line · Duga Spencer
About Spencer Dock
Spencer Dock was one of four stops that came with the 2009 extension of the Red Line east through the docklands, and it sits on a length of Mayor Street Upper that is closed to other traffic, so trams have the carriageway to themselves. Central Square is alongside, and the old North Wall railway yards lie just beyond. About 200 m to the west the line crosses the Royal Canal on the Spencer Dock Bridge.
The stop serves the office and conference buildings that filled this part of the north docks in the years after the extension opened, the Convention Centre Dublin among them. It is also the nearest Luas stop to Docklands, the Iarnród Éireann terminus for Western Commuter trains, about a 350 m walk away along the street — a change between two separate places rather than a step across a platform. The Irish name on the signs is Duga Spencer.

Frequently asked questions
Docklands, about 350 m away on foot. It is a separate Iarnród Éireann terminus rather than part of the tram stop, so the connection is a walk along the street, and the two have different names and different entrances.
The Royal Canal. Roughly 200 m west of the platforms the Red Line is carried over the water on the Spencer Dock Bridge before continuing towards the city centre.
