Cookstown Way gives this stop its setting: a strip of reserved track at the side of the road, in the industrial district of the same name on the northern edge of Tallaght. It opened with the Red Line in 2004 and is one of the plainer stops on the network, with the Irish name Baile an Chócaigh.

It lies on the Tallaght branch, which the Red Line follows after dividing at Belgard, with Hospital and Tallaght beyond it. The trams serve the warehouses and workshops of the Cookstown estate and the housing behind them, and there is cycle parking at the stop for people riding in from the surrounding streets.

It is within about a kilometre, roughly 590 m in a straight line, but it is not the stop for it. The Hospital stop, one further along the branch, is built immediately outside the hospital.
