Suir Road Luas stop
Luas Red Line · Bóthar na Siúire
About Suir Road
Three roads meet beside a canal lock at Suir Road — Suir Road itself, Davitt Road and Dolphin Road — and the tram stop sits at the intersection. It opened with the Red Line in 2004 and is the point at which the line changes sides of the water.
West of the stop the trams run along the bank of the Grand Canal. East of it they cross the canal on the Ann Devlin Bridge, named for the Irish republican Anne Devlin, whose name is spelt differently on the dedication plaque from the way it is usually given, and then continue along the course of a derelict branch of the canal towards the city centre, while the navigable water turns away south-east to loop around central Dublin. The Irish form of the name is Bóthar na Siúire.

luas.ie publishes no facility list for individual Luas stops, so the only stop-level facts here are the Park & Ride and Cycle & Ride flags from the operator’s own stop data. Absence of a row is not evidence that something is missing.
What is near Suir Road
There is little at the stop itself beyond the lock and the road junction. The Good Counsel GAA Club grounds are about 100 m from the platforms and the SIPTU College some 340 m away; otherwise this is a residential and light industrial stretch of Dublin 8 and Dublin 12, with the canal towpath as the main attraction for anyone on foot. Most passengers here are local, walking in from the streets on either side of the water.
