Drimnagh Luas stop
Luas Red Line · Droimeanach
About Drimnagh
A footbridge went up at the same time as the stop, carrying people over the Grand Canal to the streets on the northern bank. Unlike the level crossing at Goldenbridge, the neighbouring stop towards town, it is not step-free. The stop opened with the Red Line in 2004.
Drimnagh sits on the canalside stretch of the line, in the district it is named after, and is the tram stop for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital at Crumlin and for Richmond Barracks. The Irish form is Droimeanach. West of here the line leaves the canal and turns onto the Naas Road at Blackhorse.

What is near Drimnagh
Housing on both banks of the canal makes up most of the catchment, and there is little at the platforms themselves. Richmond Barracks, which is now a museum, lies about 350 m away and Inchicore Library some 360 m, both across the water and reached by the stop’s own footbridge. Beyond them, the main destination people use the stop for is Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital at Crumlin, a walk to the south.
