Cherrywood went in during the 2010 push south from Sandyford, at the northern end of a concrete viaduct that at the time crossed nothing in particular. The plot beneath stayed empty for close to a decade. That changed in the late 2010s, when building began in earnest, and the platforms are now surrounded by apartment blocks and shops rather than by a field.

The stop serves the Cherrywood development and the business park of the same name. It is reached through Bishop Street and stands on Grand Parade, a street that was still under construction as of October 2023 — one of the few places on the network where the roads are catching up with the trams rather than the other way round. Brides Glen, the end of the line, is a short run beyond; Laughanstown lies back towards town.

Frequently asked questions

The stop was put in at the northern end of a concrete viaduct in 2010, ahead of the Cherrywood development it was meant to serve. The land beneath remained an empty plot for nearly a decade before apartment blocks and shops were built around it in the late 2010s.

Through Bishop Street, with the platforms on Grand Parade. Grand Parade was still being built as of October 2023, so the walking routes to the stop have changed as the surrounding development has gone up, and local signage is worth checking.
