Harmonstown train station
DART · Baile Hearmann · Dublin
About Harmonstown
Harmonstown is one of the few twentieth-century additions to this stretch of line, opened on 27 January 1957 to serve Harmonstown itself and the nearer parts of Artane and Raheny. It is small, and it is arranged the other way round from most stations on the coast line: the entrance is on the rail bridge between Harmonstown Road and the Ennafort, or Cill Eanna, part of Raheny, and the platforms are below in a cutting, reached by ramps from the bridge.
There is nothing else to it. No car park, no bicycle parking, no booking office and no staff; tickets come from the machine or a Leap card, and DART trains are the only service that calls. That makes it a walk-up station for the streets on either side of the cutting, with Raheny about five minutes away on foot and Killester the following call towards the city.

Frequently asked questions
On the rail bridge itself, between Harmonstown Road and the Ennafort or Cill Eanna side of Raheny. The platforms sit in the cutting below and are reached by ramps down from the bridge, so the entrance is at street level and the trains are not.
About five minutes’ walk. The two serve overlapping parts of the same district — Harmonstown also takes in the nearer parts of Artane — which is why they sit closer together than most pairs on the coast line.
